Who Will Play the Volturi?

Some of the most scary and formidable characters of the Twilight series are the Volturi, and their introduction in New Moon gives a wealth of casting options. Undoubtedly we’ll see some big names now that Twilight is such a phenom, but what are some likely stars that might find their way into the sequel to Twilight?–

For Jane, a masochistic pet of Aro’s and twin to Alec,

The only actress I want to see take on the role of the petite pain inflictor with the childlike voice is Pushing Daisies’ Kristin Chenoweth. Her voice is certainly high enough, and at 4′11”, she’s also short enough.

For Aro, a learned leader of the Volturi that doesn’t mind sacrificing his own kind to gain power,

The mind-reading Volturi leader is described as having long, dark hair and translucently white skin. As much as I’d love to see True Blood’s Stephen Moyer take a stab at the royal role, I’m going to think outside the coffin and offer up Crispin Glover, who has a knack for playing creepy and possesses the gaunt features you’d expect of an ancient undead.

As for Caius, another leader of the Volturi:

Caius: Having perfected the role of a wise, other-worldly being sporting long white hair in The Lord of the Rings, I’m nominating British thespian Christopher Lee. Plus, he’s got tons of vampire cred, having played Count Dracula more than 10 times throughout his long career.

As for Felix, I’ll go ahead and put in my vote and say that I’d love to see Irishman Jonas Armstrong (that’s him on the right) from the BBC version of Robin Hood. The gorgeous 20-something is leaving Robin Hood after series 3 to pursue new challenges, and I’d love to see him call dibs on Bella like Felix does in New Moon.
